Akhila Rajendran

 

Akhila Rajendran is a registered general nurse with over a decade of clinical experience, having worked in diverse healthcare settings since 2010. Her clinical background includes coronary care, rehabilitation, and geriatric services, where she developed a strong interest in patient safety, workforce wellbeing, and quality of care. Akhila completed a Master’s degree in Nursing Education in 2022, followed by a postgraduate qualification in Gerontological Nursing in 2023. In 2024, she commenced her PhD with the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery and the SPHeRE Programme in Ireland. Her doctoral research focuses on aggression and hostility towards healthcare providers in Ireland, with an emphasis on understanding experiences and informing policy and practice. Since January 2026, Akhila has been working part-time as an Assistant Lecturer in General Nursing at South East Technological University (SETU), Waterford.
