Caroline  Gourley

Caroline  Gourley was elected as President of the Organisation in May 2024, having been active  at both section and branch level within the INMO since 1990.

 

Caroline works as the  director of nursing for CHO Dublin North City and County (DNCC), based in St Mary’s Hospital in Dublin.  She holds qualifications in first line management, nursing management, palliative care, and medical law. Following her training, Caroline worked in England for a number of years.  She then  returned to Ireland to work in infectious diseases and addiction serviced in Cherry Orchard Hospital, Dublin. She later transferred to a Care of the Older Person unit where she found that this area of nursing was her passion. She has been working in this sector since 1995.

 

Since joining the INMO Executive Council in 2020, Ms Gourley’s priorities have been safe staffing and skill mix, with a  heavy focus on health and safety in the workplace. She is passionate about the development of nurse-led services, nurse prescribing and nurse-led community units fostering person-centered care.
