Cozy Cuddle Scrubs (by Stacey)™ allows newborn babies delivered by Elective Caesarean Section to immediately reap the benefits of life-changing skin-to-skin contact.

The innovative idea from Elective Section Midwife, Stacey Boyle, and Senior Charge Midwife, Marianne Hay of NHS Lothian, allows newborns to be carefully placed into fleece-lined scrub tops worn by birth partners while the surgical team focus on completion of the Caesarean procedure.

Newborns can nestle inside the scrubs as an interim measure, helping adjustment to life outside the womb by keeping them warm while regulating heart rate and breathing, amongst other benefits, until the mum/birth partner is able to offer skin-to-skin contact too.

Cozy Cuddle Scrubs (by Stacey)™ can also be used when mum may be receiving more high dependency care or when baby is in the neonatal unit and mums/birth partners can provide skin-to-skin.

Developed into a commercial product alongside leading healthcare innovation body InnoScot Health, the breakthrough scrubs are now set to be supplied in partnership with family-owned Burlington Uniforms, a specialist with over 50 years of experience, delivering tailored healthcare uniforms for men, women, and unisex roles across a number of disciplines.
