Episode 8: Preventing post-traumatic stress disorder through compassionate care
This weeks programme will be hosted as usual by Sue Macdonald, Co-editor, Mayes Midwifery
Featuring:
Dr Jenny Patterson, Midwife and Research Fellow at Edinburgh Napier University
Dr Diane Ménage, Lecturer in Midwifery at De Montfort University
The need for compassionate midwifery care for women and for midwives was identified in two separate pioneering research studies by and Dr Jenny Patterson and in this session their combined findings are explored.
Sue, Jenny and Diane will present the implications for practice, the profession and, in the context of COVID-19, how compassion can be an effective intervention to reduce the long term impact on women and families, and on midwives themselves.
The video will be available to watch right here on Wednesday 27th May from 7:00 – 8:00pm.
