Dayna Wright
Midwifery Led Services Matron, Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust
Dayna is the Midwifery-led Services Matron at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital, overseeing the Birth Centre, Continuity of Carer, Family Support Workers, Homebirth Team and Infant Feeding Team. She has 10 years post-qualification midwifery experience, with a specialist interest in midwifery led care. She graduated in 2015 from Birmingham City University with a 1st in BSc (Hons) Midwifery, followed by an MSc in Advanced Midwifery Practice at Anglia Ruskin University with distinction in 2024. Her academic work focussed on Vaginal Birth After Caesarean (VBAC) and her major project was a critical literature review on the “Impact of midwifery continuity of carer for women and babies at social disadvantage”. Her most recent work includes the BWC Midwifery-Led Working Group’s “Place of Birth Project”, which is what she will be presenting virtually today.
