Edidong Ishola

Edidong Ishola began providing mental health peer support to mothers in 2018, building on earlier efforts to raise awareness about postpartum depression through hospital outreach initiatives. Her personal experience of discovering her Rhesus status, combined with close engagement with healthcare providers, highlighted significant gaps in perinatal mental health support in Nigeria—an insight that inspired her to take action.

She is the founder of MIKEDCAREs, a pioneering organisation dedicated to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of women of childbearing age and parents. Over the past eight years, the organisation has created virtual safe spaces, delivered therapeutic support, and positively impacted thousands of families.
