Call for Papers:

We are now seeking presentations and poster submissions to form the seminar programme at the Cardiff Festival.

The call for papers is your opportunity to share your work with colleagues at the event itself and as part of the box set of filmed and audio recorded presentations that will be shared with healthcare professionals across the UK.

YOUR WORK MATTERS

Submissions should demonstrate best practice, innovation and research particularly, but not exclusively, in the following areas:

  • Improving health outcomes for women, babies and families
  • Leading midwifery and women’s health
  • Real life midwifery
  • Supporting physiological birth
  • Contemporary care of the newborn
  • Personalised care, choice and continuity
  • Innovation in everyday practice
  • Practical workshop
  • The international midwife
  • Transforming the maternity service
  • Career focus: Developing the midwife of the future

Submissions should be no more than 300 words.

5 good reasons to submit a conference paper:

  1. Share the latest thinking and best practice with colleagues around the UK and internationally
  2. Receive recognition for the innovative work you are doing
  3. Have the video or podcast of your presentation after the event to share with your colleagues and managers
  4. Be part of the maternity and midwifery catalogue of videos and podcasts that HCPs will be able to access over the coming months and years
  5. Create a valuable addition to your NMC revalidation portfolio

There are two types of session:

Verbal Presentation: 25 minute seminar session (15 min presentation/10 mins Q&A)

Visual Presentation: Forming part of the academic poster display

Deadline: Friday 17 July 2026
