Meaningful change begins with the courage to speak up. I didn’t set out to become a campaigner. I set out to become a midwife. Like thousands of student midwives across the UK, I entered this profession because I wanted to support women and families through some of the most important moments of their lives.

During my training, I discovered something I couldn’t ignore. While maternity services faced significant workforce pressures, many student midwives were approaching graduation without the certainty of employment. I realised that advocating for women also meant advocating for the future of the profession itself.

That belief led me into national advocacy, working alongside students, midwives and national organisations to campaign for a stronger maternity workforce. That campaign wasn’t the destination, it became the foundation for everything I want to achieve.

Today, my mission is to help shape the future of maternity care through leadership, advocacy and workforce improvement – creating a profession where midwives can thrive and every woman, baby and family receives the care they deserve. Impact
