Amy Griffiths
Amy is a PhD candidate at Swansea University, researching the experiences of Autistic mothers and children’s social work. She is keen to understand how Autistic mothers experience both voluntary and non-voluntary social work intervention. Similarly, Amy is interested in how the system can better support social workers to carry out their statutory obligations when supporting Autistic mothers. She has carried out an extensive literature review along with qualitative interviews with both Autistic mothers and children’s social workers. Amy’s work will be complemented by a further study of a broader population of Autistic mothers, to ascertain whether recommendations can be made to improve both social work practice and policy.
Amy is also an Autistic mother herself, raising two Autistic children.
