Victoria Pirie

Specialist Contraception Midwife, Gloucestershire NHS Trust 

Vick Pirie is a Specialist Midwife in Contraception with over 30 years’ NHS experience and is passionate about improving women’s access to high-quality contraceptive care after birth. Based in Gloucestershire, she leads specialist postnatal contraception services across maternity settings, combining clinical practice with service development, quality improvement and education.

Vicki is Co-Chair of the UK Post-birth Contraception Network (PBCN) and has contributed to national initiatives aimed at strengthening postnatal contraceptive care and reducing inequalities in access. She has developed innovative maternity contraception pathways and is committed to supporting maternity teams to embed evidence-based practice into routine care.

An experienced educator and national speaker, alongside her NHS role, Vicki has developed MATCON™ (Maternity Postnatal Contraception Training), an evidence-based educational programme designed to support maternity professionals in delivering safe, effective and person-centred postnatal contraception care. She is passionate about sharing innovation and inspiring improvements that enhance outcomes for women, babies and families.
