‘Tall Poppy Maternity consultancy supports people to create kind, safe and compassionate maternity and neonatal practice environments. Founded and led by Maggie O’Brien who held Director of Midwifery roles in the UK and New Zealand, former President and Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Midwives, and author of Respectful Relationships in Maternity Services, Tall Poppy Maternity has experience together with a deep understanding of midwifery practice, leadership, management and education.

We believe the change required to improve safety and experience for women and families is not possible while unkind cultures exist within maternity units. Therefore, we work alongside leaders, educators, all staff, managers and students to support meaningful, sustainable culture improvement across all maternity and neonatal care settings. To achieve this we support and give people confidence to improve their working environment by working with them to create bespoke plans for change.’
