Midwifery assessment of the perineum after childbirth

Midwifery assessment of the perineum after childbirth: A mixed methods exploration of confidence, competence and culture.

We’d like to invite you to take part in our research study as you are registered as a midwife in the UK. We are a group of researchers at the University of Oxford looking at Midwives’ experience of perineal assessment after childbirth. We would like to know about the experience of 100 midwives across the country to identify what training and support is available for practitioners.

The survey should take a maximum of 10 minutes. Your participation is voluntary. If you do not wish to answer a question please skip to the next one. If you wish to exit the survey, close the browser window and all data entered in the form will be cleared. Your answers will remain anonymous and stored for 3 years after publication of the results. The IP address will not be stored.

If you are happy to be contacted by the research team to discuss taking part in an in-depth interview on the topic of perineal assessment then please include a contact email address at the end.

This project has received ethics clearance through the University of Oxford Central University Research Ethics Committee R58988/RE001. Thank you very much for your support. If you wish to know more about the study, feel free to contact the Study Lead on Jennifer.maclellan@ndm.ox.ac.uk.
