Nicola Witcombe

Nicola Witcombe is an independent midwife and T Level nursing educator with over 15 years of experience in midwifery practice. She works across both education and maternity care, supporting the development of future healthcare professionals while also working directly with families during pregnancy and the postnatal period.

Nicola is the founder of Mobile Midwives CIC, a service providing accessible, non-clinical guidance, education and support for families navigating maternity care. Through her work in both education and practice, she has developed a strong interest in workforce sustainability within midwifery, particularly the challenges newly qualified midwives face when transitioning into practice.

Her work explores practical approaches to retaining midwives within the profession, including alternative pathways, expanded roles, and improved integration between NHS and independent services, with a focus on supporting both midwives and the families they care for.
