Yetunde Akinnuoye

Yetunde is a Senior Lecturer in Midwifery at a university in East London, a role held since 2025. Prior to this, she served as a Programme Director at a London-based higher education institution. Her professional background encompasses extensive clinical and leadership experience, including roles as a Midwifery Manager and contributions to mentoring both within the UK and internationally.

Her academic and professional interests are centred on advancing excellence in midwifery practice through the integration of evidence-based pedagogy, simulation-based education, and research-informed teaching. She is particularly committed to contextualising learning in ways that effectively bridge theory and practice, ensuring that student midwives are well prepared to become competent, reflective practitioners who are fit for purpose and responsive to the demands of contemporary maternity services.
