About Kicks Count

Kicks Count is a UK charity dedicated to reducing stillbirth and neonatal death by raising awareness of baby movements.

A decrease in a baby’s movements is a key warning sign of distress. Research shows that around half of mothers who experience a stillbirth noticed reduced movements beforehand, and that increased awareness and prompt reporting could prevent up to a third of stillbirths.

Founded in 2009 by Sophia Wyatt after the stillbirth of her daughter Chloe, Kicks Count exists to ensure no parent is left without vital information. The charity’s simple but powerful message is: report any change in your baby’s movements immediately.

Kicks Count supports families and professionals through free resources for midwives, evidence-based information, social media campaigns, national media outreach and a free mobile app to help track baby movements. Proven awareness campaigns, including Kicks Count initiatives, have shown significant reductions in stillbirth rates.

By empowering pregnant women with knowledge and confidence, Kicks Count continues to save lives and prevent heartbreak.
