Student midwives heading for the frontline in COVID-19
The second instalment of the Maternity & Midwifery Hour – proudly supported by MATFLIX – focuses on the students affected by the coronavirus crisis hitting global healthcare systems.
Host Sue Macdonald (Co-editor, Mayes Midwifery textbook) was joined by Dr Anna Byrom (Senior Midwifery Lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire) and Alicia Burnett (Student Midwife, University of West London). Together they provide a rally cry for those going above and beyond the call of due while sharing the latest information on working through COVID-19 and signpost students to up-to-date guidance. Whether it is ex-nurses being redeployed or third-year students moving into clinical service, they give unique insight into how student midwives, maternity professionals and allied healthcare workers are stepping up during these exceptionally difficult times. They answer all kinds of questions live.
While you are at it, be sure to check out the MATFLIX special offer for those students stepping up.
