Sleep and mental health in pregnancy study
Please can you help share this study with pregnant women and birthing people and their partners:
Are you or your partner currently pregnant and would like to take part in a study on sleep and mental health during pregnancy?
We are a research team from the University of Birmingham exploring sleep patterns and investigating potential associations between sleep and mental health during pregnancy in both pregnant women and their partners in the UK. This study will help us to further understand the role of sleep and how it might be associated with mental health problems during pregnancy.
The study will consist of three parts: several online questionnaires on sleep and mental health during the pregnancy period, wearing a sleep watch and completing a sleep diary over a 2-week period, and participation in an online focus group discussing sleep and mental health during the pregnancy period. All parts of the study are to be completed by both mother pregnant woman and partner.
Those who take part will be compensated a total of £35 per couple – £10 for completing the questionnaires, £15 for participation in the sleep watch/diary recording, and £10 for participation in the focus group. You do not have to participate in all parts of the study; compensation will be given for the parts you complete.
If you have any questions, or wish to take part, please contact Dr Isabel Morales-Muñoz (i.morales-munoz@bham.ac.uk) and/or Camilla Carr (c.a.f.carr@bham.ac.uk).
