Alvaro Baeza Nunez

Alvaro Baeza-Nunez is a Course Lead and Senior Lecturer in Midwifery at UEL in London and a practising midwife with extensive experience in managing high-risk pregnancies, complex pathologies, and emergency care for women. His clinical career spans both the UK and international settings, giving him a broad, global perspective on maternal and newborn health. He is actively engaged in supporting clinical development in resource-limited settings, contributing as a volunteer and advisor to initiatives that strengthen maternity care worldwide.

Alvaro brings his rich clinical expertise into the classroom, where he is passionate about preparing students to become autonomous, confident, and resilient practitioners in an ever-evolving healthcare landscape. He strongly advocates for the importance of risk assessment and rapid, effective responses to obstetric emergencies. Through innovative technologies and enhanced assessment strategies, he is committed to improving student learning and ensuring that graduates are fully equipped for contemporary midwifery practice.
